About RetireMax Insurance
RetireMax Insurance is a family-owned independent insurance agency based in Mokena, Illinois, with more than 30 years of experience. James Francis started selling life, health, long-term care, and Medicare supplement policies in 1984 and established the RetireMax Insurance Agency in 1993; his son Joe Francis joined in 2001 and expanded the agency into home and auto coverage, and today oversees the home, auto, and commercial divisions. The agency offers home, auto, life, business, health, Medicare, and dental and vision insurance to individuals, families, retirees, and small businesses, and writes policies for clients across Illinois, Indiana, Arizona, and Wisconsin. It works with carriers including Hagerty, Foremost, Progressive, and GEICO and reviews each client's coverage yearly.
Challenge
RetireMax competes with captive agents and online insurers that spend heavily to win the same Illinois drivers, homeowners, and business owners, and its pitch is the opposite of an 800 number: a local agent who treats clients like neighbors and gives no-pressure advice. After a poor experience with a previous SEO company, the owner wanted a site that could drive new quote requests and support an SEO push into location pages and coverage categories for families, individuals, and commercial clients. The site had to present a long list of coverage lines without overwhelming a visitor and make asking for a quote the first thing they see. SmartSites set out to design and build a website that leads with a fast, local quote and backs it with the agency's family story.

SmartSites designed and built a new website for RetireMax Insurance that puts a fast, local quote in front of every visitor and shows the family and carriers behind the agency.
- Design & UX: Used a red and navy palette with a front-porch hero photo, a 30-plus-years badge, and rounded coverage cards with real family and business photography.
- Conversion flow: Built a Select Insurance Type quote form into the hero, added Compare Quotes and Get My Quote buttons with click-to-call, and a longer personalized quote form near the footer.
- Service pages: Launched pages for auto, home, commercial, health, life, Medicare supplement, and specialty lines such as restaurant, dental practice, electrician, boat, condo, flood, motorcycle, renters, RV, and umbrella insurance.
- Trust & resources: Added a meet-the-team section, a carrier logo band, testimonials, a Contact Your Carrier page, an insurance FAQ, and a blog.
