Sound Management Group is a family-run commercial acoustics company headquartered in Hillsborough, New Jersey, serving clients nationwide. Founded in 1981 as Interior Acoustics by Art Barkman and renamed Sound Management Group in 1998, the firm delivers turnkey noise control: it analyzes the environment, designs a solution, manufactures the product in the USA, delivers it, and installs it with certified technicians. Its proprietary lines include the Sound Shadow sound masking system, Sound Delete panels, clouds, banners, and baffles, Eco Absorb recycled PET products, Acoustic Impressions custom-printed panels, Wood Worx acoustical wood slats, Hush Pane soundproof windows, and Sound Elite acoustical blinds. Clients span corporate offices, education, healthcare, hospitality, government, worship, and recreation, with projects for Boston Children's Hospital, Novo Nordisk, and Chubb, and the company holds Avetta safety certification.
Challenge
Sound Management Group sells to facility managers, architects, designers, and business owners who each arrive with a different problem: a call center that is too loud, a therapy office that has to meet HIPAA speech-privacy expectations, a school gym that echoes, or a pickleball club that needs soundproofing. Its catalog of proprietary products, long list of space types, and design-to-installation services all had to be reachable from one site without a visitor needing to know acoustics vocabulary first. Leads come from quote requests and consultations, so every path had to end in a form, and a New Jersey firm had to read as the nationwide provider it is. SmartSites set out to rebuild the website so that any space, product, or problem leads to a custom solution request.

SmartSites designed and built a new website for Sound Management Group that lets a visitor start from their space, their product, or their noise problem and end at a quote request.
- Design & UX: Built a rotating hero that cycles through Sound Shadow sound masking, the project portfolio, turnkey custom solutions, and Acoustic Impressions, each with its own call to action, above a five-step analyze-design-manufacture-deliver-install strip.
- Navigation: Organized the site three ways, by Spaces such as offices, call centers, lecture halls, doctor and dental offices, hotels, churches, gyms, and pickleball courts, by Products across the proprietary lines, and by Solutions from speech privacy to reverberation reduction.
- Conversion flow: Placed Request a Quote and Get a Quote buttons throughout, a Discover Your Solution tool, a Become a Partner page, a newsletter signup, and contact options with the 800 number and email.
- Trust & resources: Added an About page with the company story, founder quote, and Barkman family team, plus client, testimonial, and portfolio pages featuring Amazon BlueShift sound mitigation, a school gymnasium, and the Prestige Pickleball Club, along with a blog and FAQ.
