About Application Associates
Application Associates is a factory-authorized stocking distributor of genuine OEM air, vacuum and filtration products, based in Middlesex, New Jersey. For decades the company has supplied filters, vacuum pumps, industrial ducting and dust collection parts from brands such as Baldwin, MANN-FILTER, Becker, Nordfab, Donaldson, Fleetguard and Goyen to buyers in agriculture, construction, manufacturing, transportation and other industries. Rather than one catch-all catalog, Application Associates sells each major line through its own ecommerce storefront, including Baldwin Filters R Us, Becker Pumps R Us, MANN Filters R Us and Quick Fit Ducting, all backed by the same team, the same fulfillment operation and the same technical support.
Challenge
Application Associates' customers shop by brand and part number, so the company runs a family of brand-specific storefronts instead of a single catalog. That model only pays off when each store is easy to find and quick to order from, and the business had long relied on traditional sales rather than search to bring in new commercial buyers. Organic visibility was thin, revenue had been trending down, and paid search had to grow volume across several storefronts without giving up return on ad spend. SmartSites was brought in to build and run the storefronts and to drive qualified buyers to them through SEO and PPC.
